All the staff were so pleasant and helpful. Hotel was glorious lots of places to sit and bathroom was perfect.

Excellent location. Coffee & hot chocolate in lobby. Very nice sitting area.
Did not like room; very small, very small closet, toilet in small room with no shelf and separate from the bathroom.

If you are looking at these reviews because you are unsure about booking this hotel: book it.
Genuinely one of the nicest hotels my wife and I have ever stayed at, and undoubtedly our favorite hotel from our three-week European honeymoon.
The attention to detail is excellent from the decor to the helpfulness of the staff. The FREE cappuccino machine and pastries in the lobby were fantastic. The rooms were beautiful and the amenities were great. Our AC, shower, etc were all far above average compared to other hotels we stayed at.
I see some reviews complain about room size -- that is a bit of the nature of the beast with European hotels. This isn't a Hilton off the highway in Texas, the rooms will be comparatively small to that, but there was still plenty of room for us, and a creative use of storage space to clear up our floor area. And we had 3 large suitcases.
The hotel is fantastic, the location couldn't be better to explore Amsterdam, the staff is amazing, and most of all, the hotel cat Wimmel is a superstar. I highly highly recommend staying at this property, and my wife and I will be back personally.

One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The lobby is quite a scene but the staff and rooms are wonderful. I love the coffee bar in the lobby!!
