“Lorna and her family are beautiful people. The Gemstones Property is high on a hill overlooking the most beautiful beach (Cross Bay) During our stay we basically had the beach to ourselves. The walk to beach from Gemstones is fairly steep but there are two other routes. It’s not an issue to sway a decision to stay here. We stayed 10 days and our taxi driver Belinda who is a beautiful person stopped in route to gemstone from airport at supermarket so we could buy food, beer and wine etc. We……

“Fantastic location in the village, beautiful view of Mangrove Bay. Very clean with amenities close by. As well, the bus is across the street to take you to Hamilton or Dockyard. Jody is a wonderful host and very attentive. We’ve stayed here 2 years in a row and look forward to returning again. Highly recommend.”

“Was wanting to stay in the Somerset area for 3 weeks so this was a perfect location for our needs. Well set up for a longer term stay with great kitchen facilities, balcony, close to buses etc. would highly recommend for anyone - especially a longer term stay.”

“Excellent location if you are seeking a short walk to the beach (Long Bay) and amenities such as a pool. Excellent value for the amount of space (I was upgraded from a studio to full apartment) of the accommodation. Regrettably, dining options/grocery store were not within walking distance, however, the additional fee for the airport transfer (arranged by the host) included a stop at grocery store - which was extremely helpful. “It was just me staying for a couple nights before getting on a boat. There is a bus stop 3 houses away from the property. A walking path along the ocean which was amazing. Swizzle Inn only a mile away......I walked! The place is perfect for a couple or single. Has everything you need and then some!”

“This property is a gem! Spotless, well maintained with a million dollar view. So peaceful and only a 10 minute walk to P.O., grocery, gas, pizza place and the bus route. We stayed four nights and thought it was the ideal location. The apartment was super clean and well appointed with super soft sheets and lush thick towels. The host, Wayne is a encyclopedia of local knowledge and very genial. We listened to the birds by day and the tree frogs at night. Just lovely, we would stay here again!”

The studio is attached to a beautiful house in the middle of the island, near south shore beaches, with good access to the city of Hamilton. The gardens and pool are lush. The sound of tree frogs at night and morning cockerels was glorious. Would stay again!”

There were some leftover personal care item’s left in a bathroom drawer with a chunk of old dried up bread. But bathroom was clean otherwise. Floors were clean which is important. The a/c worked well. We typically spend very little time in our room, we are not real particular. We would possibly stay again for future visits.”
