Check in process took 40 mins so digital keys and online check in process wasn't fully operating/helpful for late at night (wasn't staffed 24/7 which is what the listing said. Well after paying for booking an email came saying no 24 hour front desk anymore (main reason I chose here). Pics in the hotel listing are misleading in that they show windows in rooms that appear to open towards outside of building like normal windows but they only face the hallway/common area. Floors in my solo room were not cleaned before I got here - many different hair types on floor - bloody gross. Ceiling fan very dirty also. Air conditioning split system unit is on but remote not available so can't adjust climate control. Square vent next to AC unit expels very warm air through a very dirty opening and it can't be controlled from room so overall the room was quite uncomfortable and stuffy. Who pumps warm air and unadjustable air-con air into a room simultaneously, in the tropics, during a heat wave?! Hotel says that they conduct daily housekeeping but this was not the case for my room (2 night stay). Small waste bin in room not emptied and it was full as by the door to room. Also, there is a patch of mold on the wall just below and to the right of air conditioning unit. Have taken pictures of all of this to show (if interested) that I am not exaggerating. Generally the complex is quite loud with large gaps at bottom of room doors allowing sound to echo across polished concrete floors

Check in was great, friendly and quick. Only issue was coming back to the hostel at night when reception was closed, the app used to open the doors did not work. Rang the phone number but no answer. Another guest had the same issue until a third guest tried and the door opened. They rang back over an hour later once I was asleep. Had the other guest not been able to open the door, I would not have been able to get in. Yet the app worked to open the door to my room

Very central location but uber drivers are not familiar with the hostel. Select pick up or drop off area at different landmark such as Timezone, Woolworths or Art Gallery. Can be a bit noisy outside at night as expected with central locations

The private room we stayed in was clean and quiet. Check in was easy and front desk staff were always friendly. On our day of check out they let us store luggage for the day as we didn’t leave town until the evening which was a great help! The bathrooms ran out of paper products a few times and the bathrooms and kitchen were not the cleanest in comparison to other hostels along the east coast, but it was nothing too notable and overall we had a positive experience! The location is incredible and we were within walking distance of everything we could’ve hoped for, including pick up spots for day tours. Free breakfast included toast, coffees & teas. I would recommend this property and would say the highlights were the location and the quiet rooms.

Worst hotel ever! Went to our private room and the door didn’t lock. Receptionist came up and checked it out and realized she couldn’t fix it, gave us the option to go to a dorm room instead. We chose a private room and paid extra for it. Figured we’d be just as good in the unlocked room as we would be in a shared dorm with who knows how many people. She assured us the handyman would come the next day, they didn’t it. How long has this room lock not work? It’s very obvious as soon as you close the door because the door mechanism on the side of door is pushed in and doesn’t pop out, I took pictures. At least the guest before us had the same issue, and I’m sure the guest after us will. At check out they request you strip the bed, that was the thing that grossed us out (I took pictures for proof). Absolute disgusting. The mattress pad had body fluid stains in a few places, and the pillows were in worse condition. One of the pillows was brown stained. If you want guests to strip the beds make sure your bedding is in at least good condition. Would never stay again or recommend to use this place Checkout is 10AM, why do they close the female bathroom at 9AM to clean it? It definitely needed done but wait the extra hour to do so, you have people who want to use the bathroom before checking out so had to wait for the cleaning to be done
