“We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Castillo. The terrace had an amazing view of Arenal volcano, and we saw so many birds in the backyard. It was amazing to have coffee in morning and watch clouds roll through valley and listen to birdsong. The location is convenient for getting to Fortuna and nearby parks for hiking, but Castillo feels much more quaint and quiet for enjoying peaceful evenings. “The owners were lovely and gave us a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom cabin which was ideal for us with 2 young children. It had a well equipt kitchen. We did have a few ants coming in but when we told the owner they came down to spray the cabin. Great having a pool at the property for unwinding after a busy day in nature. The town was a 5 minute drive and it was really easy and cheap to get taxis there. Would definitely recommend staying here.”

“Overall we loved staying here. There was just enough room for our group of 10 (7 adults and 3 kids aged 4-17). The views of the lake and the volcano are absolutely breathtaking, and the house is situated on a beautiful property surrounded by jungle, so we saw lots of birds right off the porch. The pool and hot tub were amazing, and entertained the kids for hours, all with a spectacular backdrop. The house and grounds were in good shape, clean, and well cared for. “We went for my wife's 40th birthday with multiple families with kids. It was a perfect venue and stay that was closer to the Liberia airport vs Fortuna. We had Tucans on the property, parrots, and plenty of beautiful birds. There is enough distance from each of the villas that gave you some privacy, but close enough to also feel together easily. One issue you can run into in being in the jungle is bugs, but there were no mosquitos or any issues at all staying here, definitely nothing in the……

“On the property lives 2 roosters which are very loud (and beautifull). And you have to feed them otherwise they will scream non stop. They start to beg for food around 4 am. Plus there is no hot water in sinks which makes living very uncomfortable (no dishwasher as well). If you want to have a nice shower - forget about it! Showers have electrical warmers and you have to use small water presser to make it work. We got no hot water in both bathrooms when we arrived. Later shower was fixed in……

“Our stay at Casa Karon was for 3 nights, sandwiched between our visit to Papagayo and then closer to the coast near San Jose. Seeing Toucans and small parrots and sitting on the bench on the deck overlooking the forest in the morning was my favorite. The pool and hottub were amazing, and it really is cooler there than other parts of Costa Rica. Michael was a wealth of knowledge and fun to talk to. The grounds were immaculately kept given the environment and the flora was amazing. We definitely……

“We needed a stop over on the way to Monteverde, this was an excellent choice. The rooms were comfortable, but they do need a little updating. The staff and the restaurant were both great and we loved the grounds. Would stay again if in the area ”

“酒店位置深入火山公园，有段路需要急后转弯，晚上没有灯，有点吓人，相比其他酒店确实远一些。 前台的美女姐姐非常贴心，给出了很多建议，她家有不少tour可选，方便出行。房间很大，古朴装饰，比较喜欢，就是卫生间洗澡没有地台，水会留出去是个缺陷。 早餐的面包和水果自助，正餐是点餐制有四种，均没有菜。晚餐的汤很赞。 泳池酒吧很好，温泉的，度假村感觉人比较少”
