Historical&perfect location.Most of the staffs gd

优点: Very nice frontdesk, concierge, health club and restaurant staffs. Restaurant food is good. Perfect location
缺点: Housekeeping is a bit below standard- bed sheets are not changed according to hotel policy, or even after our request. Room air-conditioning noise
位置地段: Calton Hill, Edinburg Castle, every around the hotel
We started by a very warm welcoming and greeting from frontdesk staff upon checkin. Concierge staffs are also very helpful by providing us necessary tips for dining. Restaurants staffs, and , health club staffs (impressive) are very very warm and sincere. Food in Number One and also in the nice French restaurant is impressive. However, we need to express our discontent, that after two nights, our bed sheets were not changed (where hotel policy was supposed to change every other night). We were initially ok, then we called to change the bed sheets for ourselves during our visit to health club. After coming back two hours later, those bed sheets were not changed neither. This really disappointed us. Besides, the fan sound is too big and annoying during sleep.

Staff was great. Breakfast was awesome. Occasional drunks outside. Centrally located, iconic building. Didn’t like staff knocking insistently for turn down service when I’m watching TV.

What I didn't like.. The breakfast. In the states most hotels (both cheap and expensive) include breakfast. I paid 35 lbs for a breakfast that wasn't worth $3. Cold runny scrambled eggs. Nothing on the buffet table was especially inviting. Service was nice, and table clean, etc. The following days, we went down to McDonalds and had better meal for 8 lbs. For the price that we paid, you could do better and not charge so much.

Very VERY dated bathrooms. Spa area is just like past century. Toilet would not flash. Thin walls - you can hear a whisper. Breakfast was horrible. The staff is very nice though.
