“We enjoy our stay at the place, we wanted something quiet to enjoy the holidays and recharge batteries, surrounded by nature, and this property matched the need perfectly. The property itself is comfortable, quiet, well equipped (except for towels and more comfortable blankets). The view of the lake is unmatchable and delivers a great experience. Some inconveniences: The location is far from supermarket or stores so you have to be prepared in advance and take all the supplies you need. Not……

“I think the place has great potential, the view is great, has great access and location. A bit breezy, but I liked that. A couple appliances did not work (Stove and coffee maker), probably not reported to the manager, as I mentioned it to a employee and a maintenance company was there promptly the next morning. The kitchen is nice, although sparcely outfitted. The bedroom would be a lot nicer with a dresser and a place to hang clothes. Wifi was good. The bathroom felt more like a laundry room……

“We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Castillo. The terrace had an amazing view of Arenal volcano, and we saw so many birds in the backyard. It was amazing to have coffee in morning and watch clouds roll through valley and listen to birdsong. The location is convenient for getting to Fortuna and nearby parks for hiking, but Castillo feels much more quaint and quiet for enjoying peaceful evenings. We cooked in kitchen and had everything we needed to prepare meals. We also loved Ventanita restaurant……

“Overall we loved staying here. There was just enough room for our group of 10 (7 adults and 3 kids aged 4-17). The views of the lake and the volcano are absolutely breathtaking, and the house is situated on a beautiful property surrounded by jungle, so we saw lots of birds right off the porch. The pool and hot tub were amazing, and entertained the kids for hours, all with a spectacular backdrop. The house and grounds were in good shape, clean, and well cared for. A couple things in the house……
