“My dog loved the smells and just wanted to stand on the front patio and sniff as horses grazed nearby or looked back at her. The interior of the cottage was delightful, very clean with very comfy bed and full kitchen. I enjoyed walking around the property in dawn's early light and met several workers who were very friendly and ready to address a tree that had fallen across one of the trails. There are at least two wedding venues on the property which may give an idea of how scenic and beautiful……

“Everything was just perfect. We loved eating on the porch and watching the horses. They were all so friendly and the kids love spending time with them. The house was clean and in good repair. We loved our time there.”

“The property was great. A quiet removal from the hustle and bustle of Charlottesville, but close enough to serve as a basecamp. The property mgmt was very easily reachable and made the trip a breeze.”

“Pros Real working farm setting. Very peaceful and serene. Very clean and cool temp wise. Cons Wifi wasnnt working and cell reception poor which made self check in difficult. Had to buy more TP and salt touse in the kitchen. Bathroom sink took forever to drain BUT overall, very minor issues. Would rent again.”

“Pros: Serene location, picturesque pond in backyard, great vibes and friendly staff. We were here for a wedding and had a wonderful time. Cons: Older farm dog off leash on property-roams around and bit our friend’s dog, causing him to bleed, Pond house cute but could be cleaner-quite dusty. ”

“I cannot say enough about one of the best Vrbo stays we've had. The property is just as pictured. Quaint, cozy and fully stocked with just about anything you could possibly need for your stay. And the history of the cottage is interesting. Although we were plagued by rain during our stay, we did have enough of a clearing on our 2nd day to enjoy the views from the back deck while enjoying our morning coffee from the dual brew/Keurig coffeemaker. “We had a wonderful time in Cottage 39. We were in town for a wedding and wanted a little bit of space for our family of 4. This was the perfect spot. We didn't get to spend a lot of time on property because of wedding activities, but we did take advantage of the free mini golf as well as the outdoor and indoor pools at the lodge. The kitchen was great for making breakfasts to start our busy days. We would definitely stay here again.”

“Myla is very nice and she keeps a beautiful garden. My only complaints are I was only given one bath towel and there wasn’t any extra to be found in the unit. I didn’t want to go upstairs to ask as it was very late when I discovered it. Also, the temperature was a bit cold for me and I didn’t see a thermostat. However, I’d stay again and just make sure I requested another towel and come with warmer clothing. Her house is very close to my best friend’s, and I visit a couple times a year.”

“We really enjoyed staying at this cozy, renovated1700's kitchen house! It had perfect spaces for our 2 teenaged boys to spread out upstairs, beautiful views and places to walk, and was excellent for running between Woodberry and Charlottesville. The friendly dogs and fresh eggs were an added bonus for us.”

“Great location in Orange County Va farm land very close to many attractions and with in reach to Charlottesville for a day trip via country road route 20 ( no traffic lights). The cottage is an outbuilding on the Bloomingdale Farm property that is surround by working farms. The view from the porch is peaceful and relaxing with the Blue Ridge off in the distance. The cottage is rustic with old wide plank pine floors that creek with every step. The first floor sitting room has a large working wood……

“This cottage at Bloomingdale was simply outstanding. First of all, Sam is one of the friendliest and most hospitable of hosts! The property and surroundings take your breath away. We plan on returning as often as we can. WE LOVE THIS PROPERTY!! We HIGHLY recommend!”

“My friends and I were obsessed with this house. We stayed here for a girls trip/my sister’s bachelorette party and had such a great time. The home is so beautiful and so is the property. We loved hanging out by the pool and cooking in the kitchen. Everything was very clean and comfortable and I enjoyed learning about the history of the home from the owner we were definitely stay here again we had a wonderful time.”

“Our stay at the Shenandoah Crossing was wonderful! The setting was beautiful and the cabin was awesome! Very clean and modern with the rustic feel. All staff at the lodge were helpful and very nice! The only thing I could suggest is to please list the incidental fee amount on the confirmation information. Other than that our trip was much more than we anticipated!!”
