"The front desk staff when we were checking in (couldn’t remember the whole name but start with Aj) was pleasant, knowledgeable and very accommodating. We thought he was the owner! Our room is very nice, clean and roomy, unlike a typical European room, small. The only thing would make this hotel perfect is the blackout drape since the Sun never sets ! "We were there on an Icelandair one day layover. The hotel is clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable although the pillow was too soft and flat for my taste. Desk staff were helpful. We could see the ocean from our room, which was right at the end of the row, along with grazing ponies and two lighthouses. It’s in a really quiet area with nothing to disturb your repose. "This is not a comment about the Start Hostel but about Expedia which seems to have deteriorated dramatically as a service provider in recent month. I went to check in for my stay starting May 28th - 29th and the system booked a room for me for May 27th - 28th. When I attempted to contact Expedia on their Virtual Chat or to Cancel the reservation, the system gave an error and would not let me do the same. Start Hostel was EXCEPTIONAL in trying to help in every way possible. Get it together...

"We were in room 1 - it was very large. Two sofas three bedrooms three bathrooms and a large kitchen. The warm air hit us as we walked in the door - very nice. No awful sprays or other bad odors. It was just what we needed including a washing machine to clean the baby clothes. I recommend staying here. It is a very practical and comfortable place. Papa’s pizzas and fish and chips is near and has good food. Other sights are close by and not busy."

"This was a great location. Having the little kitchen and a hot tub on the deck was amazing. Taking a little stroll at night was picture perfect. It is remote though, so make sure you have a rental car and any snacks and drinks you need before you settle in for the night. I’ll stay here again, it was lovely. "
