I love this property and was sad to learn that is up for reconstruction due to time sharing.
I have stayed at this property every time I visit Honolulu.
Reasons for likes was the quiet pool area.
However this experience was not as expected for the Modern.
Loud music playing daily .Also a large group of young students taking over a large area of the pool side-for a Birthday celebration Alcohol drinking was excessive and setting a bad example for young adults who were staying at the Modern.

Be careful when you book. A partial ocean view is the view above the parking lot across the street. The “resort fee” gets you absolutely NOTHING. Be prepared to be nickeled and dimed the whole stay. The food is a joke for a resort. Save your money and explore outside wikiki for dining. If you’re looking for a place to just rest your head, this is the place for you. If you’re looking for a resort, stay at the Sheraton or Marriott.
