Beds are very comfortable, and this location is incredibly quiet, so you are guaranteed a perfect night's sleep. The wildlife on Lewis is amazing - this year we actually watched Black-throated Divers courting on the loch whilst sat at the dining table, and then 3 Cuckoos in a chase around the trees in the front garden, plus……

“The property was very comfortable and spacious. Everything necessary was available. We couldn't have asked for more and didn't expect what we found at at a very honest price. We cannot fault John for his cooperation and his management of the property. The information available was comprehensive and up to date. The position of the house is excellent if you have a car and want to visit all of the island. The maximum drive time was about 1 hour and fifteen minutes. We can only HIGHLY RECOMMEND this……

We already know the island and have lots of family there and Jan and Callum offered to come and extend our table if they were coming over, asked where we needed safety gates and provided top class toddler safe equipment. “Unser Urlaub war herrlich, Das Haus war super sauber und sehr liebevoll eingerichtet (zum Beispiel selbst aufgenommene Fotos der Region, sehr passend und stimmig). Die Lage ist unbeschreiblich, morgens weckt einen (wenn man die Vorhänge nicht zu zieht) der Sonnenaufgang über der Bucht. Die Lage in Südlewis erscheint uns allen als Beste auf der ganzen Insel, Grade die Bucht von Uig ist wunderschön, nur ein richtiger Pub hat gefehlt. Übrigens war dies der erste Urlaub, bei dem ich weinen müsste,……

The property is clean and welcoming and provides a good base to explore Lewis (and Harris) Good easy walks available locally from the property but also a good site from which to experience the island (I cannot vouch for the public transport situation)”

There was a nice view of the loch out the dining room window and it was fun to watch the sheep with their lambs around the property. The location made it a good place to explore Lewis: Uig, the Calanais Standing Stones, the Black Houses, and to Stornoway for groceries and restaurants. “This was a comfortable, roomy cottage. We used it as a home base for exploring the Isles of Harris and Lewis. The owners were friendly and very responsive. This is still one of the spots we rave about after our trip. There is a great little coffee/tea/shop just at the end of the drive with a friendly proprietor and even friendlier doggo. ”

“We had a great time in the Decca- the former radio navigation station in the very northwest of the Isle of Lewis. It is just some steps of the Butt of Lewis, where there is an amazing landscape with a lot of beautiful sheep.”

“Everyone should put it on there bucket list. The owner was outstanding, very informative and helpful in all aspects of the trip. I would highly recommend the motorhome option on the Hebrides — but only —if people are comfortable driving a large vehicle on some very tiny Scottish roads. The motorhome was great and drove very nicely, and had everything needed for a wonderful stay. The only weak link will be the drive for him or herself. That should be the main factor on whether they rent the……
