“Moreno's Cottages are a pleasant series of little cabins between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. My brother and I stayed in #7. There were two twin beds, a nook and a small, separate kitchen area. It was rustic, but modern enough to feel like you had a place to relax after a hike. We did have some problems getting in, but Todd was super accommodating and had backup codes for us to use. “We stayed at the”Blackhaus” January 19-23. The house was perfect for our 3 teenage boys and my wife and I. It is a bit off the road which offers serenity and peace. The house is well appointed and met all of our needs. It is located just about 8 minutes from whiteface ski resort and about 22 minutes to lake placid. I Will definitely stay here again. ”

“Perfect for a long weekend up for a tournament. Great location, quiet with easy access to both downtowns. Need to take advantage of the firepits next time! Only comment is it would be great to have a ceiling fan or something in the room - more cross breeze. But overall great!”

“It is what it looks like. A charming place to stay that is quiet, relaxing, easy to get to, close to town, but far enough away, simple, and although there are several cabins, it is also very private in each one. There is also a gas station/convenience store that is very near by which had quick things we needed and even fresh salads to eat on two occasions. We found being here more relaxing than if we had found a hotel in the area. The process was seamless from booking to check-out. The hosts……

“This is a tiny bare bones cabin. Hardly room for a couple. No stove or place to cook. There was microwave and sink. The bed was large but mattress sagged in middle. The drawers were hard to open and close. No one on premises to greet you; access entirely on internet, but internet and phone connection spotty. We did not receive emails so we had a lot of trouble getting in. However, owners were subsequently available by phone and were responsive if we had problem. The location is excellent right……

“My family and I enjoyed our stay here. The location was good, 20 mins or less to Saranac, about 30 or so mins to Lake Placid mirror lake. The house was clean and kitchen had everything we needed to cook. Beds were comfortable, heating was more than adequate. The yard and lake access was fun. Snow was pretty much untouched and the kids loved sledding, playing with their trucks, walking on the frozen lake and trying to make their best snow angels.
