There were a few staff that were arrogant, snotty, and acted like they hated or despised the people that they were serving. Otherwise, there were good people used to the service industry. The all-inclusive price was eclipsed by staff demand and expectations for tips. I saw people "paying" $5 for every drink such was the result of expected and demanded tipping. The stay was almost ruined by a few employees with bad attitudes. It was a challenge to get a burger made to order beccause of one snotty lady cook who ignorantly kept smashing the life and juice out of every hamburger and serving burnt bitter hockey pucks all day.

The on site restaurants were ok. Buffet was my go to place. We lost power at least half the time we were there for at least a minute then had to reset the AC. The island is safe ! No liability waver for leaving the resort. Island east to get around with ton of things to do . I would diffinately go back❤️

Stayed for 5 nights. Check in was good, Cedric was amazing and accommodating. The area in itself was walkable, convenient, very safe with many security guards standing near the entrances. The room was good despite the poor ventilation and toilet seat being crooked. Beatrice (housekeeper) was such a sweetheart. Endless drinks/food on the property as well as outside food. One con I didn’t like was another housekeeper entering our room without permission aside from that, the property itself is exceptional.

Service was always with a smile. Gaat location, close to so much! Variety of place to eat. The employees...... they early made the stay for us! We received 5-star treatment (Go VIP) started with the frozen washcloth and glass of champagne when we were checking in. Did I mention the 4 regular size bottles of Vodka, Gin, Whisky m and Rum in oar room? That was ll yours to keep nether the less. We will be back to St. Maarteen and we will be staying here!

I had so much fun staying at the Sonesta. It was close distance to everything in st Maarten. What I didn't like much was the staff at the hotel by the pool area aren't really friendly, attentive, and seem annoyed at times. If you train your staff to fix the things I just mentioned it will be a 5 star hotel!
