Caught us off guard, but was nice
Let me start by saying it worked for our stay but caught us off guard. We are used to having access to the full property without the owner being onsite.
In our experience and conversations with VRBO support this property would not be defined as not a VRBO due to the shared space.
What we found was that the listing does not tell you that you are renting out the basement of a home and there are amenities listed that we did not find at the property.
We have visited many VRBO’s and it is always the entire property.
The apartment was clean and comfortable, but it did not have AC or Heat control, so you were at the mercy of the homeowner for the temperature in the apartment. It was in the 50’s at night and the rooms were still hot during the night although the ceiling fans helped. The beds were comfortable, and the property welcomed pets, which was a plus for our stay.
Parking is in front of the home in a cul-de-sac and while the neighborhood was quiet and safe, I would worry about blocking driveways or having to park in front of a neighbor’s home if you have more than two cars.
The access from the side yard, although not hard to navigate, was mainly grass and dirt and we were constantly cleaning up the entry.
In conclusion, while this was not our cup of tea it was clean, comfortable, and worked for our visit.
