Neat little spot in the central Keys! The grounds and layout of Captain Pips make you feel like you’re staying at a little resort! The several small buildings that house the rooms are colourful and have nice landscaping. I had some concerns the local restaurant (Porkys?) would be a dive bar, but we actually shared a great dinner and breakfast by the water there, really liked it for our family’s food needs. And the kids fed fish and saw a manatee in the harbour out front. The only down side is the flooring in our room, and the furnishings, all seemed a bit worn and dated. Not a major issue, but hopefully they do some interior renovations soon to really make you feel like you’re at a 4-5 star mini resort.

Kayaking and bike rental included with stay. Good location with fun activities offered. The actual room was decent. Shower heads should be replaced. Room was clean overall and they had a lot of necessities already in the rooms such as pots, pans, silverware, cups and bowls and dish soap and sponge. Would recommend them.

Bed was the worse bed I've ever slept on. Like sleeping on a stack of cardboard.
Almost got locked inside of our room twice due to the interior handle not working
Showers were very inconsistent for temperature. Would be scalding hot for 2 mins to lukewarm/cold water.
Fan/light in dinning area didnt have power. Living area light didnt put out any light the light bulbs only glowed. The fridge light was burnt out. Bathroom light switch was broken but still functioned.
Everything was provide for cooking/eating (such as pots and pans plates and cups) but there was no supplies to clean anything.

I am sorry we are upgrading our rooms with new furniture. I was not told about any power issues. I have informed my head of maintance to go over there and address these issues. We have sponges and dish soap in each apartment. Please in the future call the office right away, so we can handle these right away and you can enjoy your stay.

Such a unique and wonderful place. Very relaxing and enjoyable with lots to do nearby along with rentals on site

The check out time 10:00 am every where else is 11 and the cleaning lady was at our door at 10 ! Felt rushed and that’s not a nice feeling especially when your there for your birthday with your family
