I booked a 3 nights stay at this hotel for a solo me time trip, the main selling point for me was the sound proofing.
Next Hotel Melbourne is a newish hotel in the Melbourne CBD. The hotel is a great location for convenient access to the trams, with a few minutes walk through Southern Cross Lane to access the 86 and 96 route trams. During the weekday Southern Cross Lane has a nice range of food and cafe options. The hotel is almost right next door to the Stamford Hotel.
The hotel has beautiful appointed rooms, with very comfortable beds, there's the option to choose your own type of pillow and the rooms have ambient lighting. There are tea bags and coffee capsules available for use. The hotel also provides robes, however if you require slippers, you need to call reception.
The bathrooms are quite roomy with the option of the hand held shower or the rain shower, both had good water pressure. The bathroom also has full size bottles of nice toiletries to use. The most impressive thing about the bathroom would be the Dyson hairdryer, this was a very nice addition to the room.
The view from my room was nothing spectacular, I had to close one blind on the window for the entirety of my trip because the window is facing an office.
I requested a quiet room when I checked into the hotel, so the reception staff member assigned me a corner room. I was disappointed to discover on the weekend that the room in fact had no sound proofing because I could hear loud music from the n
