The beach and pool areas are beautiful. The food is a real problem, reservations are nearly impossible to secure, the food is terrible and overpriced. We got food poisoning at one of the restaurants. The servers in general are unhappy and unhelpful. Perhaps because the service charge is automatically included there is no incentive to work for/provide good service. The only exception is the beach service, the beach attendants were friendly and a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience. When we checked out there was an additional $1400 added to our bill for charges that we did not incur. The front desk did remove them but it was just one more issue. When we brought our concerns to management the food and beverage manager comped our dinner at Cafe Boulard and even the food there was terrible. A couple spit out their martinis, said it was the worst they ever had, and walked out of the restaurant. Coincidentally, Chef Boulard was also dining at the restaurant that evening because he had a an event there the next night. We even heard him complaining about the service! I also did not enjoy the shared hotel amenities: it felt dirty, overcrowded.
