If you saw the movie, the Blues Brothers, then the hotel with the small room with trams running alongside reminds me of the room we had here. We had a double (moderate) which we expected to be small, but not so small as you struggled to walk around it without continually bruising yourself. Additionally, the room was stiflingly hot with poor ventilation and an inadequate a/c. The room was constantly humid with a dripping a/c. It had 2 windows, one was inaccessible and the other opened near ground level so you could conveniently plummet to the street below. (But you didn’t want the window open due to the building works opposite and the trams passing). The shower was the open type which flooded the bathroom, and we used numerous sets of towels to dry the floor (so much for their environment policy).
Breakfast was ok..nothing special. However it was hard to find a clean table. The staff were efficient at removing dirty plates, but I never saw any actually wipe down the tables in the three days I was there.
The only good thing about this hotel was its central location and proximity to the railway station.
Would I stay there again? The answer is simply “No”
