“Well what can I say. Second visit to this fabulous hotel and again I can’t fault it. From the moment you walk in the grand front door, checking in and going to your room it is a delight. Lovely restored old property sympathetically completed without spoiling the grandness. Large bedrooms continue with the grandness. Breakfast, choices extend to salmon dishes with poached eggs etc, alongside the usual buffet style hot options and cereals etc. Looking forward to returning to this magnificent hotel……

“The room was minimalistic with a wet room bathroom and very comfortable bed with quiet surroundings so had a good nights sleep.The breakfast was cooked fresh to customer’s request. No cereals were offered but fruit juice was on the table when we arrived. Overall good value for money and helpful staff. Flowers outside were welcoming.”

“老飯店一家，沒lift，我分幾次把三個行李箱抬到2nd floor（就是3樓），已經很熱，飯店室內都是封閉式的，窗不開，沒冷氣，我走到3樓已經開始缺氧，頭暈，進到房間，當然也是沒冷氣，開始傻眼，房間有一個窗，只有上面一條小縫隙可以打開，打開後外面的惡臭味全部飄進來，外面估計是養羊養牛或者種植什麼，不會有下次再來到這家飯店，送的也不來。”

“Good: The hotel is well located and impressive in its public areas. All the staff are friendly and polite The breakfast is very good Not so good: The room itself was not too impressive. The room was stuffy, safe didn’t work, and the shower was a trickle. Overall location 10 out of 10 so if you are out and about exploring York all day and arriving/departing by train it would be good choice. If you want to relax in your room then I would recommend a different room category or another hotel. ”

“Building and rooms a little tired. No air conditioning and when asked receiption about the loud banging noise in the air circulation unit was just told to turn it off! Room didn’t have the water that should have been provided as part of the room, however when questioned this was provided without question. Cleaner never came but again reception sorted for us. All in all, the staff we spoke to on reception, the pool and breakfast room were all excellent and extremely helpful. This made the……

“Beautiful hotel and very nice bathroom, bed was comfortable. Quiet environment and around 20 mins walk to city centre. Only thing is we have big luggage but there is no lift.”
