“The drive up the hill the first time was interesting, but Carlos the owner met us at the bottom to show us the route.The villa is lovely with amazing views. We were 4 adults with a 4 and 2 yr old and barely left the villa as it had everything we needed. Carlos the owner couldnt be more helpful, to the point that he took time out of his working day to take us into town when our son was unwell, spoke to the Doctor and took us to the pharmacy. “We stayed at Villa Romo for 10 days. The perfect place to get away and appreciate a slower pace and Spanish way of life. Carl & Maria were attentive throughout. Only snag was getting to the house on day one, as we were driving from Toledo. Managed to find the house before dark; a plus! The home is quite remote and it took us about 30 minutes to get there from the small town of Rio Gordo. (My advice is to buy groceries before you arrive.) We were very happy to get 'home' and unwind and not have……

“We hebben heerlijke dagen gehad, huis is perfect voor een grote familie. Keuken is zeer volledig uitgerust, echt alles is er. Overal leuke hoekjes om te zitten. De tafeltennistafel was ook super. We hadden een vroege vlucht maar konden eerder het huis in en ook later vertrekken ivm onze avond vlucht. Super goede en snelle communicatie met eigenaar. Incheck en uitcheck met Meme was ook prima. “The villa was suitable for us, as a party of 11, the villa could do with some updating and a tidy up on the outside of the villa, surrounding the pool area, however as a family we had a great time. The reviews that I had previously read about the villa before we got there stated that a car was needed due to the location of the villa - this is true, we ended up having to get 3 taxi's every time we left the villa as there is nothing in walking distance, not even a local shop for essentials.……

We felt like the property hadn’t been totally prepared for us as no gas bottle for bbq, no pool towels, no logs for burner and no waste bags. We had to chase for instructions on how to get there. “Just spent 10 days at this villa and had a great time. We couldn’t have asked for more with everything we needed being there. The little touches including the basics you need without having to shop on arrival (including a massive bag of fresh oranges) were gratefully received. The pool was such a good size and both adults and kids alike had fun. The only surprise, considering everything else was sorted for us was that the owners couldn’t arrange better weather……only kidding, the weather gods……

“The property itself is located within a gated community which is beautiful itself just it's location is not that accessible to the beach, local shops supermarkets unless you liking walking hills or have transport”

“Villa is in a great location if you want to experience rural Spanish life in a mountain setting. However that comes with a couple of kilometre drive along a hilly country road which is in part unmade. If hiring a car, something to consider. At times power and water are off line but nothing too drastic. Property could have been cleaner for our arrival and requires new pool chairs. “We totally loved the location of this hotel. It was a mere 2 min walk to the center plaza, food options were plenty and yet stayed very quiet and safe. A few things to keep in mind, if you get into Malaga after 3:30, you would need to check in to their sister hotel because the front desk person leaves at 3:30.
