I booked this cabin with the intent of using it as a weekend get away for friends and family and to host my small wedding. Overall, the cabin was great, and every guest had a great time there. Unfortunately, the management company is what made the overall stay good but not great.
Cabin Review:
- Every bedroom has an attached bathroom. There were some inconsistencies across the rooms/bathrooms like missing toilet roll holders, some rooms had full length mirrors and others didn't, some had trash cans, others didn't.
- The view was amazing
- Spacing to the cabin next door was decent but didn't feel overlooked
- The bar was fantastic. The roll up door in the bar area made for great indoor/outdoor space.
- The door from the dining area to the deck was broken in such a way you could not open the door no matter what you did, forcing you to walk through the bar area (and therefore the roll up door) any time you wanted to get to the deck.
-The pool and hot tub were a nice feature, although there was way too much chlorine in the pool that then made a few of our guests cough and sneeze quite a bit.
The Management Company
- Know that they do not use VRBO for correspondence, you have to call or email them directly to get a response.
- We booked this cabin through VRBO and once you book, you get an immediate email back from Timber Tops Cabin Rentals with a contract you must sign. Here's where the issues started:
- VRBO stated for this cabin 100% refund for the first 60 days after booking. The contract they send you afterwards states, no refund at any point.
- VRBO stated "parties/events allowed". The contract sent states "no parties, no exceptions".
- VRBO stated check in was at 2pm. (it now matches the 4pm stated on the contract I got). We called asking if they could let us in earlier than 4, especially since VRBO said 2pm. They stated it may be possible and to call back if we were in town the day of check in and they would prioritize cleaning. We were in town and called, but they still let us in after 4pm. We'd been sitting outside the house for 20 mins, and no one was there.
- We contacted the company for the address to the cabin early on to set up catering. They wouldn't give the address until I paid the full rental price, then after I paid, said I would get it 3 days before check in. One day after I paid, I got an automated email with the info.
