琅勃拉邦 Attractions
Sitting amidst verdant mountains at the confluence of 2 rivers, Luang Prabang is the heart of Laotian culture and widely considered to be one of the most idyllic cities in Southeast Asia. Once the royal capital of the Lan Xang Kingdom, the ancient town is home to a spectacular collection of glistening temples, which sit among a patchwork of faded villas from the city's French Indochinese past. Today, Luang Prabang is a fascinating mix of traditional Asian and European influences, with saffron-clad monks sharing the streets with wealthy tourists and vibrant markets sitting side-by-side with lovely bakeries. Outside the Historic District, cascading waterfalls, leafy forests, and winding rivers offer ample opportunity to hike, swim, fish, and sail.
