“Rooms are nice. Practical sesk with tea and coffee. Easy to work warm shower. Super breakfast options. Staff are all friendly. Will stay on a regular basis for work.”

I was surprised about not having an option to decline the holding fee on the debit card when we advised we would pay as we go. “I recommend the Black Horse. Very quiet and restful. The main building (pub & restaurant) is quite old and interesting with multiple levels and interior structures. The Garden Area was a delightful area for a pint and dinner, service was friendly as was the check-in. The grounds are sloped creating an inviting green impression. “Host Deb was friendly but this did not compensate for a room and house that smelt stale- a mix of dog and cigarette smoke. Keeping the windows open meant lots of noise from the busy road. Shower tray was blocked. Doesn't offer actual breakfast (as advertised) but was offered some toast. Generally poor experience.”
