"Lovely hôtel - perfect for Lake Windermere. Facilities in the hotel are great: there are even wellingtons you can borrow to do a woodland walk. The restaurant is fantastic with high quality food. "We stayed at this gem of a pub on the way to Scotland. The staff are all super friendly and helpful too. The pub has excellent quality food and wines too. My husband had the steak pie, I had the fish and Chips both were outstanding. We liked it so much we booked for the following week on our way back. They are really dog friendly too! "The check in was simple, with clear instructions provided in the room. Access to good quality WiFi was again simple. I ate in the pub for breakfast and dinner, it was easy to put my dinner bill and associated drinks on my bill. All the staff were friendly and relaxed, despite being a busy bank holiday weekend, which is a credit to them. All the food was fantastic, served hot and without too much of a wait. The staff were on it and keen to give you a good stay. I would definitely stay again! "
