“Overall a good stay. Spoilt a little as we stayed previously and didn't have to pay for the pool etc. This time however we did as we booked through Expedia, although we tried to book direct there was no room availability. I think it should be as it says on the best western website,if your a resident then it's all included.”

“Very nice place to visit, warm and stylish with wonderful food and service. Place where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful countryside life. Cottage room are very nice with own fire plce and comfy bed but smells old and damp would be nice to have some better ventilation there. Same as swimming pool and jacuzzi nice pool but very shallow, once you in jacuzzi is hard to breathe due to chlorine and bad ventilation. Pet friendly but if you with a pet you have only option to stay in the cottage……

“The view was excellent and the staff was kind, friendly and helpful, especially those working at breakfast restaurant. Room facilities were fair but it's value for it. Overall, very satisfactory. ”

“Karen and Graham were excellent hosts and the breakfast was a full English one and many other options in the morning. Pretty easy walk from the train station along the seashore promenade to the Guesthouse. We lucked out with 4 sunny days and enjoyed ourselves as many restaurants and eateries in the neighbourhood.”

“It is very very close to the railway station. The room is small but very clean and tidy. There is no lift and you will need to take your luggage upstairs. It is also close to the beach. A very nice and enjoyable stay.”

“Such a lovely traditional English hotel that serves excellent food. Sunday roasts are amazing a good value. West Bay is a self contained seaside resort with something for everyone. Would definitely come back again. ”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Penny our host could not do enough for us. It was bed and breakfast and ‘WOW’ what a breakfast, so much choice and very filling. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, your room was cleaned as soon as you left. Nothing was to much trouble for Penny and she always had a smile on her face. Just for your information, anyone thinking of booking, you have to negotiate stairs, to get to all but one of the bedrooms.”

“Room was very clean and tidy. More than enough space for the two of us. Tea and coffee making machine in the room, as well as a mini fridge, which was unexpected, but very welcome. A variety of breakfast items are available as well as an option for full english. Hosts Richard and Karen were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again, and would thouroughly recommend staying at The Clarence.”

“A picturesque Dorset pub with very comfortable rooms. I had dinner at the pub which was great, plus included breakfast at cafe round the corner which was also delicious. I hope to be back again soon ”

“A few of my colleagues have stayed here over a few nights and said how lovely the owner was and he assisted when Expedia didn't send through the booking quick enough but was kind enough to put up in an upgraded room at no extra cost to ourselves - highly recommend and will definitely be using this accommodation again when my trainers are down that way.”
