“I know it's cliche, but I truly wish I could give Bev and Gerry more than five stars. Their property is stunning - we spent half a day just roaming the beautiful grounds, seeing the plants and animals. It's incredibly secluded and felt like we were in our very own tropical paradise. Bev and Gerry are outstanding hosts and do everything they can to make the place welcoming and comfortable. I highly recommend staying here, and hope we can make it back one day.”

“We did enjoy our stay with some minor improvements needed. Number one impressive kitchen from photos but oven and cooktop were difficult to operate. We never did get either ovens to work. Poorly out fitted no vegetable peeler or box grater. Blender was broken and three chipped wine glasses only. This was rectified within 24 hours. No plastic ware for outdoor pool area. BBQ only had one propane tank with no spare to be found. Given the distance back to Hilo and the fact that ovens didn’t work……

“It would be difficult to find another property with this view and sound of the breakers hitting the cliffs below. We obsessively watched for whales and saw plenty. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! The only thing notably “wrong” was that the main house is also a rental and it sits very close to this one. If this was communicated in the listing, we didn’t catch it—it should be clearly communicated as it changes the experience at the house. When the other guests are outside, we could see……

It was easy to book, the owners were great to deal with, they responded to every question quickly, the property was beautiful, the pool was important to us and did not disappoint, the birds in the morning and the frogs at night were fantastic to listen to, and the house fit all of us (7) comfortably. “We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful private oceanfront home. Sunrises were beautiful! It is a bit north of Hilo so it was at least a 20 minute drive if we chose to go out to eat. Being on the “wet” side of the island, we experienced intermittent rain almost every day, which gave us lush tropical views and the rain did not prevent us from getting out and experiencing nature everyday. The location was ideal for us otherwise, as we traveled all over the island and didn’t intend to just hang out……

“My family and I visit the island on a regular basis and typically stay in another location. We are so happy to have found this place. From the start, Russ was awesome. He was very responsive before, during and then after our stay. His condo is absolutely amazing. We fell asleep each night to the sound of the waves crashing just outside our beautiful unobstructed wall of windows. It was a great place for our family of four! It had everything we could possibly need to make it a great stay. We will……

“This is definitely something different from most vacation properties. Unfortunately for us, our stay corresponded with a 'kona low' rain storm and so we couldn't take full advantage of uniqueness of the property. In drier weather this could have been a lot of fun, but with constant rain it was only a step up from being stuck in a tent in the rain. The property managers were super friendly and helpful. The kitchenette is basically like camping. Don't plan on cooking much in it.”

“Beautiful location, large unit. No AC, but it wasnt uncomfortable at night. The init wasnt as nicely decorated as other places but that worked for us since we were traveling with our one year old daughter. The grounds were gorgeous though! ”
