“Loved staying at David’s home. The location is perfect and the kindness and friendliness of the host was welcoming. I didn’t realize it was a shared bath but that was not a problem since I was the only one there. Perhaps I missed that in the listing. Brought back many memories for me when I lived at the lake during the summer.”

“The staff and breakfast were excellent. For areas of improvement, the road sign needs a light to illuminate it at night and the plants around it need to be trimmed to improve visibility. The landscaping on the grounds and on the porch need upkeep and improvement. It would be helpful to add a write up or plaque about the history of the home as you enter.”

“We came in for the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend (about 40min away) and stayed at this B&B. The owners are incredibly hospitable, breakfast is great, and the historic home setting is good as well. The drive to Cooperstown is through some gorgeous and serene countryside settings.”

“While the rooms and furnishings are very nice, the bathrooms we not cleanly or updated. The night I stayed there, the power had gone off and there was no air conditioning and the no water. This could be a nice B&B but the outdoors need to be improved. For starters, they could remove the junk water heater from the front porch.”

“Having been born and raised in this area, I wasn't familiar with this location when trying to find a place close to family when coming back to visit. The address said Fort Plain, however it's in town of Danube, outside of St. Johnsville, not even remotely close to FP. Mind the location, as that wasn't a big deal to travel back and forth. The problem came from the fact that nothing had been cleaned in quite some time. When I entered the B&B it was pitch black and I wasn't sure I was even in the……

“We checked in on our own for just 10 minutes and left this place. Nobody present to welcome us. No wifi and or internet, all fridges were unplugged. Web everywhere. Trees overgrown on hot tub and pool and many more! ”

“Pros: Valerie is a kind host, and the property is in one of the most beautiful areas I have ever stayed. Cons: There is one shared bathroom on the first floor. There is no bathroom in the room, or the one next door which I saw when I found out that the dividing door was not locked. The pillows did not have liners in the pillow cases and were stained so we did not use them. The sheets had other people's hair on them, so we didn't use the cover sheets or blankets.
