We were warned by local friends that the area is dangerous, but felt safe walking in and out of Harlem to the city as well as by tube at all times and had a really good time in NYC. “We booked this property for (1) night, 5 days before we were going to New York. We live in Maryland. Instant booking, no issues. I didn’t hear from the host at all. I messaged the host twice Saturday. The day I was suppose to be checking in. He then calls my cell phone and tells me that this rental is usually meant for 3-4 night stay minimum. No where in the contract/info/description said that. He told me he was going to cancel the booking because the property wasn’t ready! He must’ve just seen……

After multiple attempts to contact them, via app and phone call, it wasn’t until 45 minutes after we were supposed to check in that our reservation was cancelled due to having been double booked on another platform.
