“I woke up at 3 am to drive to National Park Manuel Antonio since my animal-watching tour had been moved to the early morning. After telling the hosts I would check out very early, they prepared fresh-made breakfast and hot coffee for me to go (including toast, tropical fruits, eggs, and cookies). That is 3:30 in the morning! That warm breakfast made me feel heartwarming while driving in the darkness. Definitely recommend this nice place!”

“Mountain Faro is a simple, clean, and well-located property, with a good breakfast included. Yes it is up a hill, but you are in Monte Verde and everything is up or down a hill. The staff, led by Lady, are lovely, welcoming, and so helpful - including recommending restaurants, helping to arrange tours, and arranging transport as needed (for tours, or if you just don't want to walk the hills). I highly recommend it.”

However, take into consideration that the property is a 3-hour drive from the airport and the hotel does not provide transportation (costs an additional $USD200 for private transportation from the airport). Daily breakfast was wonderful and the staff was very kind and accommodating. ”

“Beautiful boutique hotel. Only 6 rooms. each individually decorated . Owner chef welcoming and very personable. Amazing tasting meal available as well as regular menu. Enjoy the included family style breakfast (for hotel guests only) while you watch Toucans at the feeders. Highly recommend stopping at Gingerbred!”

“Eine schöne Unterkunft mit sehr freundlichem Inhaber (Freddie). Wir haben mit ihm eine Birdwatchingtour gemacht was wir jedem empfehlen können. Unser Zimmer (Nr. 4) hatte glücklicherweise drei Betten denn sonst hätten wir gar keine Ablagemöglichkeiten gehabt. Einen Spiegel gibt es nur in dem sehr kleinen Badezimmer, das ebenfalls keinerlei Ablagen hat. Das klingt jetzt etwas negativ, soll aber nur den Zustand realistisch beschreiben. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und von Freddie, der sehr gut……
