"This was the worst VRBO experience I have ever had. The day of my stay I had to message for directions to the cabin. Directions were not sufficient and I had no cell service. I ended up paddling to the cabin (to the “left of the dock” as I was told). It was raining and I couldn’t find the key that was supposed to be under the steps of the deck. I had no cell service and disk was approaching so I had to drive back to town and call. The host didn’t respond to my messages. I called VRBO and they could not reach the host but said since I left the premises they would not find me a place to stay since I “vacated the property” I was alone on a lake, in the rain with no cell service or shelter!!! The following day the owner messaged me and apolgized. Apparently the cabin was across the lake and I should have “pinned” it on my phone for directions (no where did it say to do that) and I had no service. I was at the wrong cabin but didn’t know it. They offered to refund and let me try again next year for free to make up for the ordeal. After a few months I noticed I did not receive a refund and they will not respond to my inquiry. Do not book this property unless you want to lose out on your money."

"This was our second stay at the cabin and it proved to be just as amazing as the first. We were able to unwind, relax and just enjoy the nature all around us. The cabin was clean and comfortable and provided everything we needed for our stay. We plan to be back next year!"

"Beautiful and secluded location overlooking Ash lake. The leaves were turning colors and we saw the northern lights. Spectacular! The cabin had everything we needed for our autumn getaway!"

"We had a great family vacation. Despite the weather not cooperating, there was plenty of room for the 17 of us to hang out indoors waiting for the rain to subside. The lake is quiet and the wildlife so much fun to see. The property could use some updating but for the most part very accomodating for a large group."

"Quiet and clean"

"Tons of nostalgia here from my childhood, as my my grandparents had a similar sized farm and I had many fond memories there growing up. We stayed 3 nights and drove up to voyageur national park two days. Overall a great place for two families with young kids vacationing together. Only two considerations for other travelers from my perspective. First, while it easily slept 4 adults+6 kids. Given the focus of our activities requiring bathing/showers every day, we were very short of hot water and had to be very strategic with scheduling our hot water use. Second, there were quite a few mosquitoes in the house even from the beginning, especially in the bathrooms. We quickly learned to keep the bathroom doors closed at night."
