The staff at this hotel could not have been better! It was a pleasure to be there, and we will be back.
The public areas were very basic, but nice and clean. As of this writing, this hotel does not charge a destination fee like many NYC hotels do, but they do put $100 hold on your credit card, which will be released at the end of your stay. They do this even if you pay in full before you arrive. The hotel has a good buffet breakfast with eggs, bacon, sides, breads, etc., and it's included in the price of the room.
The housekeeper for our room was excellent and made pretty decorations of our washcloths each day. The large bathroom looked recently renovated and was just lovely. Spic and span each day. There was room for toiletries on the countertop, which was nice.
We stayed in room 2206, which is on the 22nd floor. (The hotel has 26 floors.) The bedroom has a very basic look. It's larger than many NYC rooms with a desk, sofa, a chest of drawers, and a small closet. Nice, big window with a blackout shade. The mattress was fine.
2206 does not have a pretty view - you pay extra for that. I'll do that on my next visit. The room is right across from the elevator, so we experienced a bit of hall noise. There are 8 rooms per floor, and two of them are close to the elevator. The room had a one-cup coffee maker, no fridge, and no microwave.
All in all, we give the hotel a great rating.
