“I am a bit biased as this chateau was the home of one of my ancestors in the 16th century. I took my 85 year old father there with other members of our family for about a week. It was an excellent base for our side trips to Poitiers, Tours and La Rochelle. In several rooms, here are copies of a well researched book (in French) telling the amazing history of the chateau. Richard the Lionheart and his mother Eleanor of Acquitaine stayed here. It can be a bit cool inside during cold weather because……

“This property is amazing. Estelle the host is truly amazing, so helpful. I have booked a few properties all over the world and never had such a helpful host, the others tend to put barriers in place but Estelle couldn’t have tried harder. If you have anyone who struggles getting upstairs just be mindful and maybe don’t put them on the top floor. The bedroom with an open bathroom probably needs walls. The basement area probably need some tlc but that’s being picky. Blaye is cute too, we went……

“Nous avons passés un excellent weekend dans cette belle propriété. Nous étions 4 couple d'amis avec chacun plusieurs enfants. Le grand jardin est idéal pour les jeux en plein air. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut en équipement. Les pièces, les chambres et salles d'eau sont grandes et permettent à chacun d'avoir son espace. On recommande !”

“J'ai fêté mon anniversaire avec plusieurs ami(e)s ce weekend. Les propriétaires de ce lieu magnifique ont été aux petits soins pour nous et nous ont donné de bons conseils de randonnées qu'on peut réaliser depuis le château. Le cadre rappelle la Toscane. Les photos sont réellement le reflet de la réalité. Les chambres, la pièce à vivre sont spacieuses. Niveau propreté rien à redire. Tout a été parfait. On se sent très bien dans ce château chargé d'histoires et Histoire (avec h majuscule) que……

“Beautiful location and perfect for 3 couples who like to travel together. There is a good boulangerie within a short walk and a fish and chips truck that was excellent that is set up once a week near there. The house has great outdoor spaces, but the weather did not cooperate for us to use the pool(which appears to be very nice). The house is in a lovely rural area but is an easy drive to Sarlat and other places of interest. The owner was great to deal with and we had no problems. We would……

“very well furnished house for a large group. With friends and family staying in the vicinity, we were able to have up to 25 people for a dinner or a lunch without too much effort. Everything is very simple, but in the winter with all the coats and shoes, we lacked space to put things away or hang them. The heating was barely coping with the vast spaces, luckily it wasn't too cold. The kitchen is fantastic, and overall we had a great Christmas time.”

“After initial booking, don't expect much more help from the booking agency. And if French is not your spoken language, hire or ask a french speaking friend to help with booking the vendors. The recommended caterers are ok. Book the times 30 minutes earlier to ensure it's on time. And make sure ALL details are in writing and explored, or you may be disappointed.”
