“The King’s Throne is a far better option than a sterile Motel/Hotel option. Landon is a wonderful host and the house itself is great example of fin de ciècle architecture and how it was presented in middle class America at the time. You will never see quarter-sawn wainscoting and crown moulding like this in a conventional rental. The King’s Throne theme (probably) isn’t the look of the exterior but the chess board in the living room and chess pieces placed about the interior. All Kings? This is……

“Place was excellent. Great service and recommendations for food etc. The Creamery down the street is amazing. Owners invited us to stay on site even after checkout for the solar eclipse. The only recommendation I have is I am used to sleeping in nearly total darkness. The glass window above the door does allow light in from common area. ”

“This place is unique. The history is interesting and we definitely feel the Jefferson room ghost! I had the best steak of my life at dinner. Every member of the staff has been sweet and accommodating. Its a bit pricey, but worth it. They even left cookies in the room for us”

“Rooms are very clean. Concerned that there is only a front access without having to use the stairs in an emergency. Back exit did not appear to be marked. We had a fun family reunion/eclipse party.”
