“we love the mountain settings and the lake”

“This is the third time we've stayed at this charming cabin with our dog. The location is great, a walk to Chimney Rock and a short drive to Asheville. The stone steps would not be good for someone unsure of their footing. The cabin is well laid out so it feels roomy and always spotlessly clean. There are two ample screened porches, front and back, so pup has a lot of room to roam around. Definitely recommend.”

“Very nice stay! We enjoyed the privacy of the cabin with proximity to Lake Lure. The cabin was perfect for our 3 generations: main floor BR for 89-yr old, plus 32-yr old w/ 2 dogs, and 68-yr old middle. Varying needs and all met! One cautionary comment, and the reason for my one 4 star rating (accuracy of listing) - the fenced dog yard is secure and big, but it's very steep (not apparent in the pic), both the yard itself and the access steps. An old or very small dog could struggle. Ours were……

“My husband and I haven’t had an alone vacation in 10 yrs. The cabin is beyond adorable and they had anything we could hane possibly needed there. The town is also very charming we spent most of the first day visiting the local shops - if you’re going to the area stay here!! Especially if it’s a multi day trip- the courtyard is very easily navigated and so comfy. This did not disappoint”

“Mara & Frank were excellent hosts and we had a wonderful time! We had more than enough room to spread out with our two pups, and Mara gave us a great recommendation to try the new coffee & cocktail spot- Grey Hawk. It was outstanding. We will definitely be hoping to stay at Bill’s Bungalow again in the future!”

“We had an absolute blast at Piney Knob cabin! The location was perfect. It was secluded and quiet and very peaceful. Even got some fishing done! The cabin was super clean and nice! Easy check in and check out process! We will definitely be returning in the future!”

“The inside of the property was great. Was very disappointed that both decks and the front entryway had obviously not been cleaned for sometime. Cobwebs, dust, and leaves made all of these areas very unattractive. It’s logical to assume that spending time on your decks would be one of the reasons people would choose this condo, and they had not been cleaned for a long time.”

“We enjoyed kayaking on the lake. The dock area is a beautiful spot to hang out. The house is small, as others have mentioned, but perfect for two people.”

“The cabin is cozy and comfortable, perfect for a couple. We really enjoyed the large jacuzzi in the bedroom. The cabin is very close to Hwy 64 which makes getting around easy but in exchange there is quite a bit of traffic noise. The traffic noise is the only thing that made me give the “location and neighborhood” 3 start. Also, the steps really need a handrail. The walkway from the steps to the front door are perfectly adequate but the steps are a little steep. A little bit of something to hang……

“My wife and I always enjoy coming to Lake Lure. And Martyn's cabin is the perfect little get away for a peaceful, relaxing time amidst the beautiful trees and mountain views, while being close to the lake and beach.”

“What a great property! Kitchen was very well appointed, which we greatly appreciated. We were travelling with a toddler, so the gated lower level deck worked perfectly for a huge “playpen”. WiFi was great it was a really great touch to have the extra tank of gas for the grill right there. It was a nice quiet neighborhood for our visit. We will be back!”

“Our stay was great! It was wonderful having access to all the amenities at rumbling bald. Sheila was an amazing communicator and her neighbors were so very helpful. Unfortunately, the air conditioning went down when we were there, but they were on top of it! It was Sunday of memorial day weekend and they found someone to come out and fix it right away. It didn’t disrupt our stay at all cause we were out and about enjoying the area. Thank you for your hospitality and I would recommend this place……
