“It was comfortable and clean. Big space for a large party. Beds were good with fresh white bedding. Large rooms. Lovely old original features. Breath taking views. Quiet places to walk. Plenty to do in the area. I would recommend. Some updating perhaps on bathrooms. But still doable. We will visit again ”

“The cottage is in such a beautiful setting, there’s a bluebell meadow right outside the back door. There’s also a great dog field just a few minutes walk from the door. Very handy to give the dog a run around after a long drive! The cottage is very clean and tidy inside and very cosy. Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the log burner as the weather was too nice - not something to complain about though I suppose! We will definitely look to come back in the near future. ”

“This property is a dump!! When we arrived it had not been cleaned from the previous rental. It is in a run down neighborhood in a run down building with many steps from the street to the unit. The bathroom was in poor condition aside from the cleanliness issue. Find something else, you have been warned!!”

“The property was in a lovely location and handy for local amenities! Very quiet and lovely to sit outside and listen to the bagpipes on a morning! The only down side was the drive down to the property and the potholes if they were filled in it would have been a much easier drive in and out. ”

“A beautiful part of Scotland to stay in, with lots of information about the surrounding area available for us when we arrived. The house was well equipped with everything that we needed our only issue being that the beds were not very comfortable, despite this we had a lovely stay in a part of the country we had not visited before.”

“Beautiful place, hosts are just lovely, so accommodating and friendly. Hot tub and pool are very relaxing with the best of views from the hot tub. Only downside is the road up but it's worth it”

“Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was bigger the we thought it would be. Lovely and clean with lots of outside space. Nice big new tv (we could get the dvd to work, need a different lead) but that was find as the weather was lovely so dint watch too much tv.”

“Good property, cosy and clean. Could be greatly improved by the addition of more kitchenware such as range of pots, plates, knives, glasses etc. Otherwise nice and surrounded by a variety of farm animals.”

“We spent a lovely weekend at Hollybank & can’t fault it at all. Enough space to either spend time in small groups or be together as a group of 8. Very well-equipped kitchen & loved the option for either casual dining in the open-plan lounge or the more formal dining room. Would happily return at any time.”

“What a great location. Next to the river with views south to the Campsie fells. Lovely garden for the dogs while we relaxed on the deck in the evening sun and soaked up the view.”

“Such a beautiful location and cottage. Stayed in the Oak 2 Bed cottage and this was a home from home. They think of everything (including sachets of condiments). This stay was perfect for me, my partner and our 9 month old baby. The bedrooms are so spacious so plenty of room for a travel cot in the main bedroom with you or the 2nd bedroom. Waking up and opening the curtains to the views and the sheep was fantastic. We would definitely be going back.”

“I'm a single dad with two young boys. Our rental car blew a tire on a dangerous road a half an hour away from our stay. My international phone service wasn't connecting to the roadside assistance and we were stranded. I didn't know who else to call but our VRBO host. They took very good care of us. They got a taxi range for us and talk to my car rental company. Without their help it would have been a long long night. Very friendly. The place itself is cozy and reasonably close to the airport. “The Tarbet is a fine old building but has started to deteriorate, the room I requested was a Loch view but could barely see the loch for trees. I realise it had been raining but no excuse for the outside walls to be wet! The staff are pleasant and helpful and meals not bad with a good breakfast, just needs updating. ”

“Stayed overnight as had a trip on sea plane next day. Room was comfy and had everything we needed. Popped over to pub opposite for evening meal. Was delicious. A pint of guinness was also partaked. Breakast next morning in the same location, also excellent and good choice. ”
