“The place was overall fine and the interactions with the property owner was great as they were very responsive. Positives: Location-10 to 15 mins from Grand Bend Beach and from Pinery provincial park. Screened patio in the back was great as we could sit out at night and not get bitten alive by mosquitoes. Not so Positive Garbage was not cleared out from the previous group No/exremely limited pots and pans, we had to go and buy some while there Things to keep in mind: It says sleeps 20 but……

“This cozy carriage house is the perfect location for visiting the area. It's a quick drive to beautiful beaches for long walks. Halfway between Grand Bend and Bayfield there's lots to do and see. We had terrific dinners at Paddington's Pub (Grand Bend) and The Black Dog Bistro (Bayfield). The carriage house is cozy and spotless. Suki is a wonderful hostess and had lots of suggestions for touring in the area. We highly recommend! Maureen and Dave”

“Fantastic last minute find after our initial booking was cancelled. We absoutley loved the little village of Bayfield. We enjoyed our early morning bike rides to Clan Gregor Square and Pioneer Park in the afternoon to watch the sunset. The cottage had everything we needed to make our stay away from home perfect. “This property is a dog owners dream! Huge fenced backyard so you don't have to have your pup on leash all the time and we had access to a private beach which my bulldog loved. We used the beach daily and never ran into another person on it. The town of Bayfield has water bowls for dogs outside most shops and again our bulldog was welcome most places in town. All of this made vacationing with our dog really easy - which was initially a worry of ours when booking time away from home.”

“Whispering Pines Retreat is the perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The retreat is clean, spacious, welcoming and quiet, The views of the pine woods are lovely. The kitchen and bathroom are thoughtfully and generously stocked. The property is beautiful, and we enjoyed walking the path and discovering hidden picnic spots. Gail and Andy have created a wonderful retreat.”

“We are a small group of quilters who organized a retreat using the space in the common room - it was spacious and well lit with natural light and pot lights. Everyone had their own bed and the four bathrooms were great! Overall the cottage is clean and spacious. Easy to locate and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Great hosts!”

Arrival and check-in went smoothly and we found the cottage to be as advertised, freshly renovated and well within our standards of cleanliness. We were concerned of the neighbors and dealing with noise complaints given past reviews and the fact that the public beach access stairs are on this property however we had no issues with any of the neighbors. “We felt like we were home. Loved all the helpful frames information around the home. Very spacious, bright and clean. Communication with our hosts were always prompt. Willing to accommodate any of our needs or wishes. House is located centrally and easy to travel to any of the towns near by. We will definitely be looking toward in rebooking in the future.”

“little trouble with communication to check in (part my fault) the basement suite has recently been refinished with new appliances etc. 2 nice large bedrooms. The floor from above is kind of squeaky but the people upstairs where very quiet. Location was great easy walk to downtown theatres Jobsite brewery (great place) overall would stay again. would give it 4 out of 5”

“Our trip to the “Poplar Woods” was a perfect getaway for the US Memorial weekend with friends. Driving top down to the beach and hitting all the familiar shops was topped off by the perfect cottage that offered upscale accommodations with a homey atmosphere. The setting was so nicely tucked into the woods, but not so remote that a quick easy walk to town wasn’t possible. Every possible detail was thought of and executed without feeling overdone. We will definitely return.”

We found that we were more impressed with the actual property compared to the pictures. The hot tub was spacious and very relaxing. It was a great touch as a way to unwind. We also enjoyed how close the property was to the water (only a couple minute walk). Tyler, our host, was also very responsive and provided ample……
