“This beautiful cottage was our home base for our Redwood adventures & it could not have been more perfect! It was stocked with everything we needed and it was nestled in its own redwood forest so we were able to enjoy the serenity of the magnificent trees our entire stay whether we were out exploring the area close to Arcata or we were back from a busy day traveling and hiking. The location is so convenient to the Redwood National Forest and all that it has to offer as well as charming smaller……

“My partner and I had a wonderful stay at this cabin! The property and amenities were all as described/pictured. So many thoughtful design and decor details; delightful to look at inside and out. We had everything we needed for cooking meals and lounging at the hot tub and river. Bring a camp chair if you'd like to sit on something at the beach (there are both pebbly and sandy areas), though we were fine with towels. Highlights included wildlife sightings (osprey, bald eagle, river otter), star……

“I definitely fell in love with this property. It was perfect for us and our little Shih Tzu. The parking was nice. It nice to sit on the deck in the morning and drink coffee and drink wine in the evening on the deck. ”

Close enough for day trips to explore the Redwood forests and tide pools with our 11 month old. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a simple, clean, and comfortable place to unplug.”

“This is a sweet, small one bedroom apartment in a great location--close walk to the plaza while feeling quiet and removed. The hot tub was wonderful to come home to at night! Chris was responsive and easy to work with and clearly wants his guests to have a comfortable, relaxed stay.”

“Close to Humbolt, Redwood and community park. Downtown Arcata is also a short 10-15 minute walk. Property is clean. It’s a bit challenging that there’s no food prep area or kitchen sink. Had to wash dishes in the toilet. A small basin would be great to rinse coffee cups and small plates.”

“Julia's guest house, which is attached to the owner's actual home, was a very pleasant place to stay especially for someone traveling alone. It was very comfortable and felt very safe. The neighborhood is quiet and residential, off the beaten path but close to everything. Bed was comfortable, shower and hot water were good, kitchenette was cute and did the trick (be sure to note, coffee maker is French press and no microwave, for those who cook almost exclusively with those two appliances.) “I liked the quiet neighborhood. Parking was a little tight and had to back out of a fairly steep driveway onto the main road, but there was little traffic so not too bad. Beds were comfortable. My biggest concern was finding hairs and a small piece of a soap bar on the upstairs shower floor. The shower was obviously not cleaned properly, if at all. That was gross!”
