“I've been driving by The Shoe for over 40 years and finally took the opportunity to spend a weekend there with life-long friends. It.Was.Fantastic!!!! It's cozy, cool, creative, and full of history! We were thankful for rainy weather because we did not want to leave! Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU to the owners and host for preserving this iconic York County site and for the perfect place to have a mini-vacay with my girls!”

“Comfortable, convenient”

“Myself, my wife, and our dog stayed the weekend while I was in town for a seminar and, truthfully, I can't think of a single thing about this property that wasn't wonderful. It's located close to everything in town without being in town itself. It's right off a main road, but the cottage is set back enough so that it is not obtrusive. The cottage had all the amenities that anyone would need and was beautifully decorated and very well stocked with sundries. The property itself was gorgeous. Just……

“The home is great. The hosts are wonderful, accommodating, and quickly responsive to questions- they even gave food recommendations. We enjoyed a wonderful stay in the heart of Amish country. The neighborhood is not great for walking, but there are sidewalks directly adjacent to the house, and you can walk safely around the block. We found hiking trails at Money Rocks County Park in the Welsh Mountains (about 30 minutes) that we did not try... yet. And we found a wonderful park within 5 minutes……

“Perfect stay for our scout troop weekend at Hersheypark. The house was clean and comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed and plenty of space for our group. It was a safe quiet neighborhood about 20 minutes from the park. As others have mentioned, the stairs are steep and the downstairs much colder than upstairs but overall it was exactly what we needed, would stay here again.”

“One can truly smell the Reese's in the air. Great location to get to Hershey Park campus. We had a lovely stay.”

“Much older home with 2 bathrooms ,one on second floor and one on third floor . There was an awful smell coming from the tub on 3rd, floor. My son being a plumber said it was not vented properly. Bedrooms were all upstairs 2nd and 3rd floor, very comfortable beds and clean, Stairs were narrow and hard to climb for the older ones staying, especially just to go to bathroom. Only 1 parking space for property so any extra vehicles had to park elsewhere away from the house, We had to be dropped off……

“We had a nice 3 days here. But the house’s design is sort of awkward— we kept stubbing our toes on the hearth on our way to the porch, for instance—and it was more expensive than nicer houses nearby.”

“Communication with property owners was very fast. Property was very clean and exactly as described. The view was beautiful from the deck and the back windows. We even had a bald eagle tet in the pole and tree near our deck. Great place to rest and relax!!”

“Spent two nights at the house for a volleyball tournament. Very easy to get to Nook. House is very nice near a river which is very soothing. Sun room was a favorite for our stay. Covered bridge is a short walk down the road which was neat to see. I would definitely stay here again.”

“My wedding party reunited after 40 years of absence at this house. The place was PERFECT. Clean, neat, perfectly equipped, elegant in design and execution, high quality appliances and materials throughout. There were beautiful views of the River/Lake right out back and a large yard with sports equipment and room for all kinds of activities. Lancaster area has plenty to do around the area and gorgeous. Brian was extremely accommodating and helpful at every turn. Perfect host We could NOT have……
