“We spent ten wonderful days in the oasis known as Casa del Maya. It was our first trip to Yucatan Mexico and the beautiful colonial city of Merida. Upon our arrival, we asked Arun, the manager of the property, for a local guide. He introduced us to Carlos who is bilingual and offers tours. George and Sarah, the owners of Casa del Maya were delightful hosts. It felt like family our entire visit. Arun’s nieces made beautiful breakfasts every morning with local fruit and hearty servings of eggs and……

“Sólo me hospedé una noche y era día festivo por lo que no había personal presente, excepto cuando me recibieron. Todo fue muy buena experiencia, el hotel es pequeño, bien ubicado en el centro, limpio, de buen gusto y la habitación de buen tamaño, limpia, renovada o bien cuidada, el baño impecable. La gerente, Ximena Acosta, aunque no la conocí personalmente y sólo por chat, muy atenta a mis necesidades y con un trato cordial. Definitivamente si regresaré a hospedarme nuevamente en el hotel……

“Enjoyed the small town, the shops and restaurants in the small town, the host of the B&B recommended folks/shops and restaurants, as well as gave us accurate information on cenote to visit and other places to see. The breakfasts were amazing & delicious. We are very grateful for the great time at Mayan Bungalows near Chichen Itza. ”

“Well, it was not what we were expecting but it was certainly a fantastic find. The word Reset is totally apt. The staff are unobtrusive and especially helpful, responsive and kind. Be sure to ask them for an excursion to see the cenotes. The guide is staff and knows exactly where to take you.”

The place is not for those seeking a hotel-like experience but we enjoyed the place for its uniqueness, the many animals, and for his amazing stories and breakfast. He provided great local recommendations as well.”
