“Beautiful boarding house on the National Registry. Highly recommend staying here. Delicious breakfast, made to order, daily. Popular restaurant by night. My husband said the trout was the best he has ever had, anywhere. Walk to town or to Tomahawk Lake Town is a popular shopping destination 20 minutes to Biltmore and the Blue Ridge museum and parkway. Also check out the town museum and the huge antique store just off the highway. ”

“We had a wonderful stay at this whimsical little getaway! It was very cute and well stocked. Our kids really loved the little rock slide in the creek, the hot tub, and the place had great toys and books out for our use. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are less than 15 minutes away! Our only complaint was it wasn’t quite as clean as we’d hoped. There was evidence that the shams in the master were not cleaned before our arrival and some of the kitchen items were a little dirty (there is no dishwasher……

“My only complaint is that the original listing has 'hot tub' as an amenity, and a large soaking bathtub is NOT a hot tub. This part of the listing should be changed. However, we spent a long weekend and the place was immaculate and we would absolutely love to visit again. The kitchen was very well stocked, the property is beautiful, and while I was disappointed there was not an actual hot tub, we did not miss it. The house is very close to downtown Chimney Rock, where we were able to find more……

“Quiet and relaxing home to stay! However, there are a couple of things to be improved or fixed as follows. 1. Key to the main entrance 2. Blinds facing the back porch 3. Bedside lamp in the single beds room 4. Missing inner bowl of the conventional coffee maker (Kcup coffee maker is working fine.) “First time in about 6 years the family has spent Christmas together and it was great!!! My son brought his girlfriend, who we enjoyed having, and Abbey, his Goldendoodle . Our 8 year old granddaughter enjoyed her visit also with her Mom (our daughter). All enjoyed their stay.”

“Very spacious. It was great luxury to have 2 bedrooms, a living room and even a loft sitting room. The kitchen is well stocked. You don't have to worry about getting dishwasher detergent or coffee filters. My children enjoyed using the spa bath. Great screened porch that we didn't use because of the temperature. The downsides to this stay are poor wifi and channels are not extensive. A lot of backroads to get there meant quite a travel time to Asheville.”

“My friends and I have a yearly climbing trip to rumbling bald. This house was well accommodated and close to the parking area for chimney rock state park. Weather wasn’t great for our climbing trip this year, we didn’t mind hanging out on the porch and grilling.”

“We had a great stay at the cabin. John and Rachel are great hosts. They communicate everything really well and the cabin has everything you could need. The cabin is spacious and clean. The outdoor areas are lovely and the downtown area was a great afternoon trip. We loved it and hope to come back!”
