"I loved everything about this place. It is located in a quiet area and also in a area that made all of our adventuring a close drive. We were able to meet the owners and had a very nice conversation with them. We plan to come back and enjoy more of the moutain trails and would love to stay here again."

"Mara & Frank were excellent hosts and we had a wonderful time! We had more than enough room to spread out with our two pups, and Mara gave us a great recommendation to try the new coffee & cocktail spot- Grey Hawk. It was outstanding. We will definitely be hoping to stay at Bill’s Bungalow again in the future!"

"Very enjoyable. Incredible view. Rustic, but had everything we needed. Approach road is paved but not for the faint of heart - it is one lane and steep, with several hairpin turns. Gas fire is nice but is not vented to the outside. Highlight was seeing a bear!"

"Cozy Upper Room was perfect! The location was wonderful, the accommodations were superb, and the town of Black Mountain was so enjoyable! We really enjoyed eating our meals on the deck, especially our morning coffee. The birds were so vocal in the mornings! And the tub was such a luxury!! We also loved meeting Ottie and Taz, the dogs! What sweethearts!! Also, don't miss out on the local farmers market on Saturday mornings! What a treat, and it's only 3 blocks away! Cozy Upper Room is a fantastic...

"I traveled to Asheville for a few days of hiking with my golden retriever and stayed at this property. It is extremely well located right down the street from downtown Asheville shops, restaurants and breweries. Parking is easy, and the unit is very well appointed. The art is fun, the outside sitting area is comfy, and despite being right on Biltmore Avenue, its very quiet because of the stone structure of the house. I had to call the property management team with a problem (lost key) and they...

"Harmon had everything we needed, good location for what we wanted to see and do . The gorge zipline was an adventure rush. The purple onion was very good. The back alley barn and Tavern had wonderful music and good drink prices. It’s 20 minutes from Hendersonville, where we went to the Jubilee festival and had dinner at Brandy on Main, which was excellent."

Artist’s Mtn. Retreat: 6 Mi to Downtown Asheville!
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, 164 reviews
"It is a very clean, quiet setting. Owners are very nice. The setting is peaceful. We would stay again. The space is very open. The natural light coming through the windows is something we enjoyed very much. The beds were comfortable. We had not expected the openness of the ceilings between the bedrooms and kitchen, but this wasn't a big deal for us either since we were with our children. We realized that we were more of a 2-bathroom group at times, but we made do, and it was still a nice...

"I stayed here for two weeks and had a terrific time. Asheville is a truly beautiful area to be in if you like mountain views. If you want to check out some of Asheville's many, many breweries, this is a great location. You are less than 1.5 miles away from all of the South Slope breweries in one direction and from a couple of others in the opposite direction. The hosts were very friendly and made sure I had anything I needed."

Rustic cozy little cabin, by Chimney Rock state park and Lake Lure
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, 86 reviews
"This is the third time we've stayed at this charming cabin with our dog. The location is great, a walk to Chimney Rock and a short drive to Asheville. The stone steps would not be good for someone unsure of their footing. The cabin is well laid out so it feels roomy and always spotlessly clean. There are two ample screened porches, front and back, so pup has a lot of room to roam around. Definitely recommend."
