"My stay was for business purposes. I arrived late at night and left early. The room was clean and comfortable. Albeit the hotel was obviously an older one, the room was clean and everything worked fine. Both front desk clerks with whom I had interactions, were friendly and professional. I do have to say that, even though I arrived too late to use the pool, it was not only out of service, but also served as a large frog pond."

Evening Shade River Lodge and Cabins
3.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, 261 reviews
"On the plus side, the owners of the property were very nice and it was located right by the river. It was also a short drive to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. That being said, the wifi in that area is very spotty. Also, the bathroom fixtures were old, but everything did work. Parking was a little tricky as well. "

"The person at the front desk was friendly. The facilities were very scary to say the least. The facility is very ran down. Group of people in parking lot having a cook out. Room smelled strongly of years of smoking. Insects in bathroom. This one should not be listed on Hotels.com"

Rustic cozy little cabin, by Chimney Rock state park and Lake Lure
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, 86 reviews
"This is the third time we've stayed at this charming cabin with our dog. The location is great, a walk to Chimney Rock and a short drive to Asheville. The stone steps would not be good for someone unsure of their footing. The cabin is well laid out so it feels roomy and always spotlessly clean. There are two ample screened porches, front and back, so pup has a lot of room to roam around. Definitely recommend."

Sensational Waterfall Retreat- Hot Tub, Family/Pet Friendly near Asheville
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, 349 reviews
"We had a wonderful stay at this whimsical little getaway! It was very cute and well stocked. Our kids really loved the little rock slide in the creek, the hot tub, and the place had great toys and books out for our use. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are less than 15 minutes away! Our only complaint was it wasn’t quite as clean as we’d hoped. There was evidence that the shams in the master were not cleaned before our arrival and some of the kitchen items were a little dirty (there is no dishwasher...
