"Excellent service staff when it comes to regular service that they are used to do, but inflexible in special circumstances. E.g there was a night with heavy rain & lightning and there is a rather long walk back to our room unsheltered. We tried to ask for transport back to room seeing how their vehicles are able to ride on the platform when ferrying luggages so it should be something doable. However, they refused saying they don't offer buggy service to rooms. While we understand that it is not something that is normally offered, we thought they be more flexible. It was a dangerous walk back, we couldn't hold up our umbrellas too as the wind was too strong. During our stay, we fell sick but was very lucky to meet a very kind and helpful doctor at the medical centre. She helped us to recover quickly so that we can get back to our daily activities. Appreciated the daily activities schedule where we can partake in various free exercises and yoga. Although for some classes, instructor's punctuality can be an issue. Referring to classes not held by the gym or yoga instructor. 1 of us is vegetarian so glad to have quite a variety of options. Though would like to suggest for an improvement in the cooking of fish, it was almost always overcooked."

Just a 10-15 minute drive from the airport, the hotel provides convenient pick-up and drop-off services. Situated in a central location near attractions like the national museum, republic plaza, fish market, and the president's palace, it's perfect for a quick walking tour, which can be completed in under 30 minutes. The fish market, in particular, offers an intriguing stingray watchout, providing a unique experience not commonly found elsewhere in the Maldives. Additionally, the hotel is within walking distance of Rasfannu beach, although it's worth noting that the beach is relatively small. There are also several good eateries nearby, such as Seagull, Lemongrass, and D'Olive, as well as the convenience of Seagull supermarket. The family room at Somerset Hotel is spacious, with the staff accommodatingly arranging the sofa bed for the kids. Late checkout was offered, which was greatly appreciated due to our late flight. While the breakfast provided is basic, it is sufficient. Overall, we were pleased with our stay at Somerset Hotel and would consider returning in the future."

"Lovely hotel with fantastic service. We were picked up from the airport and immediately the service was brilliant. The staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating and really did offer a 5* service. The room was nice, albeit a little compact. The view was great. The shower was one of the nicest showers I’ve ever seen! The design and aesthetic of the property is great. The bed is very comfortable and we had a fantastic sleep. The hotel is close to the mosque, and the call to prayer is early, but this is part of the experience and ear plugs are provided if required. We left before breakfast, so they boxed one up for us, which was very kind. Fantastic stay, amazing service, highly recommend to anyone staying in Malé"
