“We enjoyed our stay at the “Cabbage” for an extended weekend. The lake themed decor along with the functionality of items needed when staying away is great! It is so quiet and calm. We walked to the area where you can put kayaks into the lake. There were geese, ducks, and squirrels which made our dog happy. The General Store in the town of Lake is a must! You can find everything…fresh meat, produce, groceries, memorabilia, craft beers, wine…selection of all is amazing. The Pere Marquette walking……

“Hospitable incredibly clean cozy nothing less than perfect”

“My husband and I spent my 60th birthday here. It was perfect! The cottage is exactly as described and pictured. The owners were very quick to respond with any questions we had. It was a very comfortable place to stay and enjoy the beautiful Houghton Lake. We rented a pontoon boat for a day and had an absolute blast! We will definitely be coming back!”

Plenty of room for our group of 8 and nice mounted tv to watch golf after playing a round or two. “The reason for our stay was to get out of the heat in Florida! We used to have a place at Higgins Lake until 3 years ago. We always enjoyed it here. It's a different pace of life compared to downstate and Florida. More relaxing. We miss that. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. They made sure it was equipped with everything you would need. Very clean and neat. It definitely gives you that "Up North" feel.”

“I’m a hiker so this location was perfect. My friend and I drove about 3-5 miles down the road until we found a parking spot and took off into the Au Sable forest and hiked for hours with our dogs. The home is cozy with great views and all of the basics for a great stay. Highly recommend.”
