“Since it was the Marriott the property has really improved. There is a bar now and a sumptuous breakfast was served. There is now an elevator where there wasn't one before. The beds are quite comfortable and there is housekeeping each day. The staff was quite courteous, except the checkout person was quite cold. i wanted to talk about our great stay but I don't think I would have been too well received. ”

“We have stayed here twice a year for the past 2.5 years, the front desk staff Chris & Emma Jane are wonderful and so accommodating, the breakfast options are plentiful, the pool is great, the rooms could use updating (especially the AC units in the suites with the living area).”

“Awesome hotel”

“For being on the cheaper side of the hotels in the field of dreams area, its probably nicer than most of the other hotels. Room was very clean and spacious, beds were comfortable. Will most likely stay here again for next seasons tournament ”

“This hotel had great live music at night, my 10 year old loved playing cards with mom and dad while listening to music. The room could use a deep clean, the carpet was dirty and left your feet black. Great location and staff and other guests were super nice”

“Elevator was broken BUT I was alerted & told I could cancel my reservation w/o any penalty. I stayed anyway (a couple flights of stairs was good exercize). TV did not work properly in my initial room BUT was given a better room with a good TV. Staff did their best so I will use Canfield again next time I stay in Dbq. [I've stayed in Hiltons & Hyatt's that have also had 'things' break down. What's important is how staff responds!]”

“A lovely hotel. Close to the town. Easy parking. Cozy and clean room. Friendly owner. Definitely it’s a great experience to stay overnight when you visit galena. ”

“Everything was good and we had a comfortable stay but the indoor pool was a bit cold. We were looking forward to the pool but it was too cold for me to get it. The hot tub was very nice and spacious though! ”

“We come to Galena once per year for business, and this place is an ideal place to stay. It is very affordable, close to food and the city center, and a quiet, comfortable room. My only requests would be to offer a continental breakfast and automatic daily housekeeping. But all in all it is an excellent value for the money.”
