“I was visiting for my son's graduation from University of Michigan and was looking for accommodations 6 months prior. Most of AA was booked solid and the hotel rooms or vacation rentals were exorbitantly expensive. I found this spot and was pleased with the price, so booked it. The apartment is a little dated, but clean and comfortable. It's in a weird location, tucked behind office buildings in a commercial area. The location was close to restaurants, a Whole Foods and just a couple miles from……

“Basic townhouse with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Can walk to downtown Ferndale. Am very annoyed about the large damage deposit which was charged when I booked months ago and then took nearly 2 weeks to be refunded. Owner says it's up to VRBO. How about a hold at check in?”

“The space was comfortable for our family of 4 while we were in town. Walkable to downtown was nice. Hoped the breakfast would include homemade or local items but was a basic store bought selection, less than a continental hotel breakfast. Guests should be okay with street noise when staying in this unit. Nicely decorated!”

“We traveled to Detroit to see the Black Crowes show at the Fillmore and spend a weekend together with family. Our stay at the Lumber Baron's Mansion was phenomenal. The location is excellent for any/all downtown activities and there's plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our host was extremely responsive and provided very clear communication. The interior was beautiful and well equipped. Highly recommended, will stay here again!”

“Locating the property was pretty easy and there was ample parking. The building itself is a bit older and is showing its age on the outside and inside. You can tell the host is in the process of trying to upgrade some things, but it doesn't impair any functionality. Unless i am booking a resort, where the room is the destination and focus of the trip, I am looking for safety, quiet, and sleep. This delivered all three of those things. We slept like babies! She quiet! We loved our time in Royal Oak and the location was a perfect little drive to Comerica park for a Tigers game!”

“Super spacious, clean, and cozy suite with a comfy bed and modern amenities just a short walk from all the shops, restaurants and bars in downtown Clarkston! Kitchenette stocked with quality teas, coffees, and breakfast foods also included. Annie, our host, was very kind and prompt to answer all of our requests. Highly recommend this property. “Luxurious accomodations. However we were not able to adjust the air conditioning and we were rather cold. Would have preferred a cooked breakfast for the price. But it was a convenient location to Pine Knob. Lovely yard.”

The condo is situated such that the bedrooms are upstairs and share no walls with any neighbors, so they were nice and quiet. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook multiple meals with ease.”
