“Great stay, lovely location! It is a little bit outside of the centre up the hill so you are likely to get rain if there is any! Only complaint was that some gardening needed to be done at 8am one of the days which was very loud and disruptive, the internet was extremely slow and patchy and the rules listed are quite strict, especially regarding charges for losing items such as towels or kets and excess dirtiness. This wasn't an issue for us fortunately.”

Having a single mirror in only the bathroom made getting ready by all guests tough and the kitchen could benefit from a drip coffee machine but not a deal breaker since they provided a chimex with hot water pot. The welcome of Kona coffee and fruit was a very nice and kind touch. Would stay again.”

“During our short stay we were able to visit Volcanoes National Park, the Green Sand Beach close to South Point, go night snorkeling with Manta Rays in Kona, visit several beaches, and even drive up Mauna Kea on our last day in Big Island (night flight) - we could not have achieved this and more without staying in such a perfectly placed location, one with unique landscape on its doorstep (the local history of lava flows was truly fascinating). Its well stocked with beach stuff and day trip supplies as well as games, books and movies. It's perfectly situated between great beaches on the kona side and the volcano park on the hilo side.”

“We love this home! It truly is a water-lover’s paradise. You cannot really get a better location, on Ali’i drive but just south of the most busy areas. Lots of nearby surfing and snorkeling. Next to a preserve filled will birds, plants and wildlife. Amazing grocery and food options at Keahou shopping center just a few minutes away, and local spots for poke and a mini mart within walking distance. It’s worth it just for the view from the lanai, which looks directly into an undeveloped woodland……

“Is a lovely cottage with a well equipped kitchen. You need a car for this property. Parking is off a very steep driveway. ”

“My husband and I stayed at the 1 bedroom until for 16 glorious days. It was the perfect place on the island for a home base. We drove all over the island. The unit itself is well loved. A little shabby and worn, but very comfortable and clean. We loved the screened in lanai. We had coffee and breakfast out there every day. The sunsets were fantastic. It was also cool in the evenings, perfect for sleeping. George was great to work with, he left us fresh avocados. They were delicious! All in all……

“Absolutely OUTSTANDING in all respects! The property is lovely in the cloud forest. The house is extremely clean and well maintained, especially for the environment. Kathryn was excellent and brought fresh eggs for us to enjoy. That being said; first night - Coqui Frogs were a bit hard to handle. Wife was ready to pull a "My Cousin Vinny", except we didn't have a hand gun. By the last night she was actually in love with the forest sounds and misses them at night. We truly hope we are blessed……

“This is the perfect place for a quiet family getaway. House has everything you could ask for with comfortable beds and pillows. Full kitchen with spices on hand. Game room and dvds on first floor. Incredible views from balcony and snorkeling sets, kayaks, boogie boards etc. Private, primitive snorkeling site that can be reached scrambling over lava rocks (stairs washed out)- Not for small kiddos or anyone needing assistance, but most people would have no problem, especially since it’s so private……
