“Had an excellent stay at the Great Western. View out to the bay from the bay windows. Great bar service who congratulated my fiancée and I with a complementary whisky. Very walkable to everything in town and the ferry. Comfortable bed and huge windows. ”

“Great location in Oban…right in the middle of everything. Staff were friendly and helpful, even kept the restaurant open late for us one night when the boat was delayed. Allowed us to order dinner from the boat and it was ready for us when we got in. Thank you! Rooms spacious, but our bathroom was on the small side. However, that didn’t detract from a very pleasant stay!”

“The property location was fantastic being in centre of town, 2 minutes walk from train station. The hotel accommodation was basic and needing some serious TLC but for us it was exactly what we were going for somewhere to put our heads down and have a shower as we were on stag do we had 1 of the family rooms which was idea with all the amenities. “Old hotel and not really clean. Hair on linen. The worst thing is no wifi connection at all because they are fixing it for days. The hotel should inform guests who want to book the hotel in advance rather than saying sorry after we arrived. Really bad experience as we are cheated.”

“Front desk went out of there way to make sure we had a room to stay in without us being able to communicate with them for a late check-in. We arrived at 11:45pm. Fortunately they had emailed us info on the room and location of key for it. We had a great sleep. ”

“Being a few minutes walk from the ferry terminal and train station make it ideal for an early start or late arrival. The buffet breakfast was freshly cooked and topped up regularly, only thing I would say is they need a toast making machine rather than a staff member rushing around delivering luke warm tost to tables.”

“We appreciated the deep silence of this stone, multi-floor structure that faces the harbor on a main thoroughfare. We recognized its two white gables as we exited the Isle of Mull ferry at 9:00 PM. Our key was waiting for us in a lockbox for late arrivals. The morning buffet (£10/person) was remarkably tasty and generous.”
