“Overall a very good and comfortable hotel to act as a base to explore the beautiful Lake District. We dined in the restaurant once and had mixed opinions over the quality of our meal. The spa area despite being refurbished needs a little attention including fixing a broken jacuzzi feature and also adjusting the steam room to actually produce some steam. These little things reflect our 4 star review (rather than full 5). The staff were amazing, very helpful and professional but also friendly and……

“The cottage itself was a little dated but clean and tidy with everything you needed. The view was spectacular but the road leading to the property was not for the faint hearted and very challenging. The small cottage is one of several holiday let’s on the same property and as the larger property was fully occupied with several visitors during our stay and between 6-10 cars we had to park outside the front of our bungalow which meant we saw our car not the view. Not bad but good be better.”

“We stayed for 3 nights and wished it could have been more. The hotel is in very good shape. Everything has been well thought out and the decor works seamlessly from reception to lounge, conservatory. Restaurant, corridors , landings and bedroom. Spotlessly clean, fresh towels and bedding. Lovely bathroom, plenty of hot water. Staff very friendly, pleasant and efficient. Food was excellent each breakfast and evening meal. The external seating areas worked well with well laid out patio and garden.……
