“What a pleasant surprise when we opened the door! Darling cottage filled with personal touches to make guests feel at home. Outside is fully fenced and dogs are made to feel very welcome with a jar of dog treats and a couch cover so pets can sit on furniture. Even a people treat waiting for us. We would definitely stay there again if traveling that way”

“My wife and I are in our early 70's and have stayed at many locations mostly hotels when we have traveled. This was by far a much safer, welcoming place to stay at a price very close and in some cases cheaper than some of the local hotels! The hosts are both personable and available if needed. The place itself was like a fancy efficiency with a small but full ktichen, washer and dryer, separate bathroom and a small dining table, desk for work and couch. There was a TV but we never turned it……

“This cottage was perfect! It was so nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen and deck were great. The owners were next door which made it easy to get little things addressed. We know we’ll be trying to stay there again. ”

“The house is located in a great location super close to Chimney Rock and a reasonable drive to Asheville. The kitchen was fully stocked and the house was very comfortable with a lovely backyard space. You can also sit on the front porch and listen to the nearby river which was a great touch. Recommend for a peaceful and convenient stay!”

“Would definitely return! Just a heads-up: the wifi connection is very slow or spotty. Wasn’t an issue for us, as our cellular service worked just fine at the house (Verizon and US Cellular), so we were able to use our phones as a hotspot for the few times we had to work. Other than that, it’s a beautiful place to disconnect from technology and enjoy the scenery!”

“The Foxhole Cottage was perfect for me and my sister for a long weekend! Very clean and nicely decorated with a kitchen with all the basics! We felt very safe in this cottage which is part of a collection of cottages that surround a lovely little park with walking path. The neighborhood is very quiet, but convenient to the main road. It was very nice to be able to open the screened windows in the bedrooms to feel the cool night breeze!”

“We loved everything about our stay! The house had amaxing views from the back porch. It was peaceful and relaxing to sit down by the stream in the evenings followed by sitting fire side once the sun went down. We loved how close it was to some of our favorites in Chimney Rock and Lake Lure but still mostly secluded and private. Would definitely stay again in the future!”

“Awe stayed for 3 nights over the weekend. We arrived at night (which I would not recommend doing for the first time you get there) and we did get a little lost. The host provided great directions, just being it the dark made it very challenging. It was very much worth the view! Beautiful place with a great set up for small kids and parents too. The host was very kind and even set out some fish food for our son to feed the koi pond with. Fit great for what we needed!”
