“Road trip from Melbourne to Uluṟu via Coober Pedy. Melissa at reception was the highlight. Super friendly, welcoming and Informative. Local of 30 years corrected our misguided perception of Coober Pedy after reading statistics from Red Suburbs site about the “violent crime” in the town. Statistics are totally misleading and relate to an isolated incident that happened in late 2023 from visiting Alice Springs mob who made their way to Coober Pedy for a funeral. “Great old style Hotel accommodation. Room was comfortable but a bit small. In the heart of the city but very quiet. Large verandah with table and chairs. Walking distance to various pubs and cafes. Continetal breakfast available each morning in the dining room. Enjoyed our stay.”

“An older styled property, it has everything you need including microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery. Very comfortable bed. Not much room in the bathroom for your stuff and no facecloths or hand towels and lacks comfortable chair. Linen is old but clean. ”

“This motel is interesting, whilst I stayed in an above ground room, the owners are building underground rooms. My accommodation was excellent, brand new, comfortable and clean. The manager was attentive and efficient. What I liked most was the surroundings: out of the way, vast horizon and beautiful sunset.”

It was rather disappointing that the restaurant & bar were also closed during the duration of our stay - these are features that sway a booking, so it seemed a little deceptive. “Great location, only complaint is the light that shines directly into the window until about 10pm at night which is hard to sleep with if you are going to bed early. And the sheets are a bit rough it would be nice if there was another option aswell ”
